Actor Jonathan Majors was arrested on 2023/03/25 Saturday and charged with assault, strangulation, and molestation, police said. Police said they responded to a call Saturday morning to an apartment complex in New York's Chelsea neighborhood about a domestic dispute between a 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman. The woman told police she was assaulted.

Jonathan Majors' criminal defense attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement Sunday that Majors "may have been the victim of an altercation with a woman he knew."

Chaudhry said the incident happened in a car and Major's attorney has video evidence and witness statements, as well as two written statements from the woman who retracted her claims.

"All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is completely innocent and that he did not attack him at all," Chaudhry said. Unfortunately, this incident happened because the woman was in a mental crisis and was taken to the hospital yesterday, which was the only reason for her arrest. We expect these allegations to be resolved soon."
